Medela Quick Clean Micro-Steam Bags

Quick easy way to sterilize!5

I am an exclusive pumper so every day I pump 6x (and clean the parts every time) and also have to sterilize bottles. It was getting to be a hassle setting up a pot of boiling water every time I wanted to clean pump parts and bottle nipples!! I saw these in the stores and was a little skeptical (also thought they seemed a little pricey) but decided to give them a shot. And I was so happy I did! A little water two minutes in the microwave and I have sparkling clean pump parts and bottles. A set of five bags gives you 100 times in the microwave. My son is three months old and I am still on the first set of bags that I bought! Looking back I feel like I definitely got my money's worth. I would recommend this product for sure.More detail ...

Lansinoh 20265 Disposable Nursing Pads 60-Count Boxes (Pack of 4)

Cream of the crap4

I hate nursing pads. I hate that they get all wrinkly and folded over if you have them in longer than five minutes and how they're all heavy and yellow when you take them out. I hate that you can see them under your shirt and that if you forget to change them you get chafed and sore. That said I hate Lansinoh the least. I systematically tried every nursing pad made from all price ranges and brands and these are the least hateful. They modestly hide under your clothing and let me go to work with my mind on my job not my blouse. They're very absorbant and don't leave you with that nasty damp feeling even if you forget to change them for a bit.More detail ...

Medela Pump & Save Storage Bags 50-pk.

Convenient but with some limitations4

I like these bags because it is really convenient to be able to pump straigt into the bag (no bottle washing!)

A couple of annoying things:

1) My baby drinks a lot so at each pumping session I usually pump about 6 ounces. i have to use two bags to hold my milk because the medela ones hold max 5 ounces. lansinoh makes larger ones so i can use just one - no problem.

2) You have to be reaaallly careful that the bags are zipped closed tightly. On a couple of occasions i have spilled milked because i thought the bags were zipped and they werent. This is especially true when the bag is filled to the max 5 oz it doesnt always zip as easily. lansinoh's bags have a double zipper which ensures no spillage!

so basically i like lansinoh bags better except for the fact that you can pump straight into the medela bags (im actually thinking of just taping the lansinoh bags to my pump and seeing what happens...)More detail ...

Lansinoh 20435 Breastmilk Storage Bags 25-Count Boxes (Pack of 3)

No leaks here...5

I have found these bags to be the best ones out there. They are thicker mm of plastic have a double seal and a separate area to write on to avoid ink contamination. In my opinion they are also much easier to pour to/from than other brands.

I also appreciate how they lay flat for more space-efficient storage. They have held up very well in my deep freeze in arctic temperatures!

I have used approximately 2000 bags (seriously) and I have had only 9 that leaked. While I was sorry to lose those bags I consider 9/2000 to be pretty impressive odds.

These are more expensive than other ones out there but I will pay that price to store my "liquid gold"!

If you are continually having difficulty with leaking bags make sure you are freezing no more than 6 ounces at a time. Even though it looks like it will hold more the milk will expand in the freezer. Also you may want to freeze smaller quantities of milk so that there is less waste. You want to ensure that your baby will drink all that you defrosted rather than having to discard it. I found it helpful to freeze some amounts in larger quantities like 4 or 6 ounces and then smaller "top off" amounts for 2 or 3 ounces. Smaller amounts also less time to thaw...although this means you will use more bags. Also don't drop them once they are frozen which can also contribute to leaks.More detail ...

Medela Pump in Style and New Pump in Style Advanced Breast Pump Tubing - Pack of 2

Product details that may be helpful5

After reading the reviews of this tubing I thought I would add a few details that may be helpful. Before ordering tubing for your pump you need to identify which type of pump you have. (Is it a Medela Pump In Style Original or a Pump In Style Advanced?) This particular tubing will fit all Original Pump In Style pumps (Original Pump In Style pumps cannot be removed from the carrying bag it comes in) and it will fit Pump In Style Advanced pumps that were manufactured AFTER July of 2006. If you have a Pump In Style Advanced pump manufactured BEFORE July of 2006 these are not the correct tubes. There is another page to order those from. (They are commonly called First Issue Pump In Style Advanced tubes)

AT this time none of Medela tubing comes in retail packaging. It is sent to the retailer in a giant ziploc bag and the seller divides them up and usually puts them in smaller bags of some sort to send to the customer. None of the tubing comes pre-sterlized so you might want to sterilize it yourself before using it. The silicone the tubes are made of tends to attract every piece of lint and anything else in it's general vicinity so even in the most careful re-packaging conditions you may find less than gleaming shiny tubes but they should never have hair wrapped around them as one reviewer complained! If you are unsure of which kind of pump you have or when it was manufactured the customer service representatives at Medela are so friendly and should be able to help you identify it. The tubing works wonderfully if you get the type intended for the pump you have.More detail ...
